TPS CHARGE LOCAL RESIDENT WITH BEING UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING HOUSE

(TIMMINS) The Timmins Police Service has charged a local person with a number of criminal
code offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the noon hour of Thursday,
January 18

th at a Schumacher apartment building.

Based on investigation, it has been determined that the suspect did gain entry into a vacant
apartment in Schumacher and proceeded to vandalize the unit.
A responding Timmins Police officer located the suspect fleeing the area.
The suspect was arrested and taken into police custody after a brief altercation.
As a result of the incident, Raymond MALONG, 35, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling House contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Mischief – Damage to Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Assault Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Resist Police Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario
Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
