During the early morning hours of May 11, 2024, members of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop in the City of Timmins. As a result of the stop, two males were identified as being involved in the weapons incident on Sixth Avenue on May 7, 2024. One male was placed under arrest, while the second male fled the area of the traffic stop on foot.
In addition to the charges stemming from the traffic stop on May 11, 2024, 20-year-old Juelz McRae of Markham has been charged with Attempt to Commit Murder, numerous firearms offences as well as Criminal Code driving offences, in relation to the Sixth Avenue weapons incident and subsequent motor vehicle collision. He is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
The second suspect who fled the traffic stop on May 11, 2024, has been positively identified and a warrant has been issued for his arrest for Attempt to Commit Murder as well as numerous firearms offences.
