
(TIMMINS) – On Sunday, June 8, 2025, members of the Timmins Police Service Traffic Section conducted a focused traffic enforcement initiative aimed at addressing high-risk driving behaviours and promoting roadway safety throughout the city.
As a result of the initiative, officers laid a total of 22 charges under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). Offences included:
- Stunt Driving – 1
- Drive While Under Suspension – 1
- Insecure Load – 1
- Obstructed Windshield – 1
- Obstruct Plate – 3
- Fail to Move Over for Emergency Vehicle – 1
- Speeding – 5
- Improper Muffler – 1
- Disobey Stop Sign – 1
- Fail to Stop for Amber Light – 2
- Use of Hand-Held Communication Device – 1
- Fail to Stop for Red Light – 1
- Colour Coating Obscuring Interior – 1
- Passenger Fail to Wear Seatbelt – 1
- Unsafe Turn – 1
In addition to the traffic-related charges, one individual was arrested during the initiative after officers determined the driver was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Mischief Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Appearance Notice.
