
(TIMMINS) – The Timmins Police Service has arrested one person in relation to a targeted incident that occurred in the afternoon of Thursday, September 18th, 2025.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., police responded to a report of shots heard in the area of Spruce Street North. Investigation revealed that the accused had opened a door to a residence and discharged a firearm into a garage, striking property inside. The accused fled the area prior to police arrival.
At around 6:20 p.m. that same day, officers located the accused walking in the area of Spruce Street South and Second Avenue. The accused was taken into custody without incident.
A search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of a loaded Glock handgun with a high-capacity magazine, concealed in a bag. The firearm’s serial number had been tampered with. Officers also seized 113.8 grams of cocaine and 22 Percocet/Oxycodone tablets, with an estimated street value of $11,600, along with a small quantity of Canadian currency.
As part of the ongoing investigation, a search warrant was executed later that day. From the warrant, officers seized:
- 184 grams of cocaine (approximate street value: $18,400)
- 1,340.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine (approximate street value: $134,090)
- 760 Percocet tablets (approximate street value: $7,600)
- Canadian currency totaling $14,491.85
The total estimated street value of controlled substances seized through this investigation is $171,690.00.
As a result of this investigation, Dean DUBUC, 54, of Timmins, has been charged with the following offences:
- Discharge a firearm into or a place in a reckless manner
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- x2 – Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- x2 – Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- Tampering with serial number of a firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of Prohibited device or ammunition for Dangerous Purpose
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was firearm
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a Firearm
- x2 – Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 in Canada
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear by video remand on Friday, September 26th, 2025.
