
(TIMMINS) –The Timmins Police Service is providing a further update regarding the two-vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred on December 7, 2025, on Highway 101 East in Porcupine.
The single occupant of one of the vehicles involved in the collision has succumbed to his injuries sustained in the incident.
The occupants of the second vehicle received minor injuries and have since been treated and released.
This incident remains under active investigation by the Timmins Police Service Traffic Unit.
Cst. Watson of the Traffic Unit emphasizes the recent and tragic frequency of serious collisions in our community, stating:
“Over the last two months, we have responded to six fatal motor vehicle collisions in our community. These incidents have had a profound impact on families, loved ones, and first responders. Whether you are a pedestrian or a motorist, we are urging everyone to remain vigilant, be aware of your surroundings, and make safe choices. Please drive according to road and weather conditions, reduce your speed when necessary, and stay focused on the task of driving. For pedestrians, we ask that you use marked crossings, make yourself visible, and take the time to ensure traffic has stopped before entering the roadway. A moment of caution can prevent a lifetime of loss.”
