
The shooting incident that occurred on Dwyer Avenue in Timmins on March 14 2026 has now been deemed a homicide investigation, as the victim has succumbed to their injuries.
The Criminal Investigation Division of the Timmins Police Service along with the Timmins Police Services Forensic Identification unit and OPP Forensic Identification Unit have continued to work throughout the weekend in an effort to identify and locate the person responsible. Through the investigation, it was revealed that the two parties were known to each other.
The Timmins Police Service are requesting assistance from the public. Police have expanded their search area, and are requesting any dashcam footage or surveillance footage for the areas from Father Costello Drive at Highway 101 to Spruce Street in Timmins between the hours of 12:30AM on March 14 2026 and 1:00 AM on March 14 2026.

On March 14 2026 at approximately 12:15 am, police responded to a report of a gunshot inside a residence on Dwyer Avenue in the City of Timmins. Police and emergency medical services responded to the call, and located one victim inside the residence with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Timmins and District Hospital where they remain in critical condition with life threatening injuries. The suspect fled from the scene.
The Criminal Investigation Division of the Timmins Police Service was engaged. Timmins Police Service also sought assistance from the OPP’s canine and forensic identification units.
The investigation is in its early stages. Police are requesting assistance from the public. Anyone in the area of Dwyer Avenue between Boundary Lane and Grant Street in Schumacher who has home surveillance or dash cam footage for the time between 1100 PM on March 13 2026 and 200 AM on March 14 2026 contact police or upload the video using the provided QR code.
