On July 20, 2026, at approximately 4:07 p.m., members of the Timmins Police Service observed the driver of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) operating without licence plates in the area of Gold Mine Road and Vipond Road.
As a result of the investigation, the driver was issued Provincial Offence Notices for:
- Drive Motor Vehicle – No Plates
- Fail to Apply for Permit – Becoming Owner
- Owner Operate on Highway – No Insurance
The Timmins Police Service reminds all ATV owners and operators that they are responsible for ensuring their vehicles are properly registered, plated, and insured where required by law. Operating an uninsured or unregistered ATV can result in significant fines and places both the operator and others at risk.
Before heading out on the trails or roadways where ATVs are permitted, take a few minutes to confirm your vehicle is compliant with Ontario’s legislation. Safe and lawful operation helps keep everyone safe and ensures continued enjoyment of off-road recreation.
