The Timmins Police Service has made significant progress in its investigation into the homicide that occurred in the area of Rea Street South shortly after midnight on August 1, 2026.
Officers responded to the area and located three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers secured the scene and provided emergency first aid with the assistance of Emergency Medical Services.
One victim, 32-year-old Cole LEFAIVE of Timmins, was transported to hospital in vital signs absent (VSA) condition and was later pronounced deceased. His next of kin has been notified. A second victim remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the third victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
The investigation determined that the victims, along with another male, were attempting to enter a residence while armed with the intention of robbing individuals inside the home.
As a result of the investigation, Kaleb BOOTH, 22, of Timmins, and Kaitlin FUDGE, 32, of Timmins, have been charged with:
- One count of First-Degree Murder
- Two counts of Attempted Murder
- Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking — cocaine and methamphetamine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Multiple firearm-related offences
The other individuals involved in the attempted home invasion have also been charged:
Cameron TRODD, of Timmins, who sustained injuries and has since been released from hospital, is charged with:
- Robbery contrary to Section 343(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Assault with a weapon contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
- Careless use of firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm contrary to section 95(1) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition contrary to section 95(1) of the Criminal Code
- Knowledge of Unauthorized possession of firearm contrary to section 92(1) of the Criminal Code
- Disguise with intent contrary to Section 351.(2) of the Criminal Code
- Fail to Comply with Release Order contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order Contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
Tyler TUCK, of Timmins, who remains in hospital with injuries, is charged with:
- Robbery contrary to Section 343(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Assault with a weapon contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
- Careless use of firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm contrary to section 95(1) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition contrary to section 95(1) of the Criminal Code

- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order Contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
Kevin MURPHY, of Timmins, who fled the scene unharmed, is charged with:
- Robbery contrary to Section 343(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Assault with a weapon contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
- Careless use of firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm contrary to section 95(1) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition contrary to section 95(1) of the Criminal Code
- Knowledge of Unauthorized possession of firearm contrary to section 92(1) of the Criminal Code
The fourth individual involved in the attempted home invasion, Cole LEFAIVE, died as a result of his injuries.
An evidence search was conducted at Aunor Beach on August 12, 2026, in relation to the ongoing homicide investigation stemming from the August 1 incident in the area of Rea Street South. The search was completed that day, and Aunor Beach was reopened to the public later that evening.
The Balsam Street North homicide investigation remains active and ongoing.
Numerous resources have been assigned to both investigations, including members of the Timmins Police Service Criminal Investigation Division, Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Section and Emergency Response Team. Support has also been provided by the Ontario Provincial Police Forensic Identification Section and Tactics and Rescue Unit.
