
Members of the Timmins Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Northeast Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) have charged two Timmins residents following a joint drug trafficking investigation.
In September 2026, the Timmins Police Service DEU and OPP Northeast Region CSCU commenced a joint investigation into the trafficking of illicit drugs in Timmins. The investigation identified a residence on Balsam Street North as a location where illicit drugs were allegedly being sold.
On Thursday, October 8, 2026, members of the Timmins Police Service DEU and OPP CSCU executed the search warrant without incident. Five occupants were located inside the residence and arrested. Marie ETHERINGTON and Anya LARABIE were transported to the Timmins Police Service station for further investigation. The remaining three occupants were released at the scene.
A search of the individuals’ incident to arrest, along with a search of the residence, resulted in the seizure of:
- Approximately 18 grams of fentanyl (brown powder)
- Approximately 29 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 18 Percocet tablets
- 5 codeine tablets
- $1,650 in Canadian currency
- One cellular phone
Total street value of $6,900.

As a result of the investigation:
Marie ETHERINGTON, 56, of Timmins, has been charged with:
- Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Anya LARABIE, 29, of Timmins, has been charged with:
- Breach of Conditional Sentence Order
- Public Mischief
“This investigation demonstrates the value of working collaboratively with our law enforcement partners to identify and address drug trafficking activity in our community. The successful execution of this warrant is the result of investigative work conducted over time and the cooperation between the Timmins Police Service and our OPP partners,” said Staff Sergeant Camirand.
