A joint drug trafficking investigation involving the Timmins Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Northeast Region Community Street Crime Unit has resulted in five arrests.
In September 2026, members of the Timmins Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit and OPP Northeast Region Community Street Crime Unit commenced a joint investigation.
As a result of the investigation, officers obtained a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant for a residence. On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, members of the Timmins Police Service Emergency Response Team (ERT) successfully executed the search warrant and five people have been charged.
All five accused face charges under the CDSA.
“Investigations of this nature demonstrate the importance of strong partnerships and a coordinated approach to keeping our community safe,” said Staff Sergeant Camirand. “The successful execution of this warrant is the result of the dedication and professionalism of our members and our continued collaboration with the OPP. Removing significant quantities of dangerous illicit drugs from our community contributes directly to public safety, and we will continue to work with our policing partners to address drug trafficking and the harms associated with it.”
The Timmins Police Service remains committed to public safety through enforcement, education and partnerships. The Service continues to work collaboratively with the OPP and other policing and community partners to identify, investigate and disrupt criminal activity that impacts the safety and well-being of residents.
There is currently a Section 517 publication ban in place. The ban captures information (including the name of the individual), evidence, or representations made at the bail hearing. Bail conditions and any evidence or materials relied upon at the hearing are prohibited from disclosure.
