The Timmins Police Service has charged a Matheson woman with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Monday, April 10th at a Laforest Drive commercial property.
Based on investigation, it was determined that the woman attended at a commercial property on Laforest Drive during the early morning hours of April 10th and proceeded to gain entry by force into an office receptacle.
The suspect then fled the scene in a stolen cargo vehicle.
The mischief to property and theft were discovered later that same morning and reported to police by an employee of the business.
The suspect was located and arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police and was taken into custody earlier today. She is now in the custody of the Timmins Police Service.
The vehicle involved and other stolen property have been recovered.
As a result of the incident, Rachel CORBIERE, 35, of Matheson, has been charged with:
– Trespass by Night contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Mischief to Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
CORBIERE remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
