On the evenings of August 28th and 29th, the Timmins Police Service’s Traffic Unit carried out focused traffic initiatives.
Over the course of these two evenings, a total of 55 vehicles were stopped, the following were issued:
- 5 Warnings issued for documents violations
- 14 road-side breath demands were made 12 blew 0 and 2 failed
- A total of 40 Provincial offences and 4 Criminal offences laid

- x4 – Fail to surrender insurance card – Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
- x3 – Drive motor vehicle – no currently validated permit – Highway Traffic Act
- x3 – Obstruct plate – Highway Traffic Act
- x2 – Disobey stop sign – fail to stop – Highway Traffic Act
- x2 – Red light – fail to stop – Highway Traffic Act
- x2 – Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle – Highway Traffic Act
- x2 – Driver fail to surrender licence – Highway Traffic Act
- x2 – Drive motor vehicle – no licence – Highway Traffic Act
- x2 – Unnecessary Noise – Highway Traffic Act
- x2 – Speeding – Highway Traffic Act
- Operate unsafe vehicle – Licence plates seized and vehicle towed – Highway Traffic Act

- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available – Cannabis Control Act
