On the evening of July 18th, 2024, Timmins Police Service conducted a 2-hour traffic enforcement blitz focusing on impairment checks. 20 traffic stops were initiated which resulted in 8 Approved Screen Device (ASD) being administered.
By the end of the evening, the following were issued:
- 14 warnings were given to drivers for various HTA violations
- Speeding
- Driving without having their headlights turned on
- 2 Provincial Offences Notices were also issued relating to drivers not surrendering their documents (such as drivers licence and vehicle permit)
The Timmins Police Service is pleased to report that in each traffic stop there were no signs of impairment and that in all ASD tests – each driver registered a blood alcohol level of ZERO!
