The Timmins Police Service Criminal Investigation Division along with the Forensic Identification Unit continues to investigate the weapons incident from earlier this morning. A canvass for witnesses and potential video is underway by investigators. The scene of the incident remains under the control of the police and will be thoroughly examined by the Forensic Identification Unit.
Further investigation of the motor vehicle collision which appears to be related to the weapons incident has revealed that three individuals exited the vehicle after the collision and fled the area on foot. The police had established a wide containment of the area and a canine track had been attempted. The track did not turn up any suspects. Further video is to be reviewed to obtain better descriptors of the suspects involved.
The effected schools in the area were notified earlier this afternoon that they could resume with their normal course of business.
The victim in this incident has been treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
