
(TIMMINS) — The Timmins Police Service has charged three individuals with impaired driving-related offences following separate incidents over the weekend.
On Friday, March 29, 2025, an impaired driver fled from police and subsequently struck a building in the area of Pine Street North and Sixth Avenue. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The driver has been charged with the following offences:
- Flight from peace officer
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Operation while impaired
On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers conducted a routine traffic stop. As a result of their investigation, two drivers were charged with operation while impaired (blood alcohol concentration over 80).
The Timmins Police Service reminds the public of the severe risks associated with impaired driving. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs endangers everyone on the road and carries serious legal consequences.
Since March 21, 2025, Timmins Police Service has laid 5 impaired charges.
To keep our roads safe, we urge all motorists to:
- Plan ahead and arrange a designated driver if you plan to drink.
- Use a taxi or ride-sharing service.
- Call a friend or family member for a safe ride home.
- Report suspected impaired drivers to police by calling 911.
