Calgary is ready to welcome Special Olympian athletes from around the nation for the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary 2024.
Over 4,000 visitors, including athletes, coaches, officials, and mission staff, along with their families and friends, will gather in Canada’s winter sport capital to take part in the competitions.
In keeping with its commitment to support the Special Olympics, the Timmins Police Service attended the Victor M Power Airport in Timmins earlier today to provide encouragement to our own local athletes.
Constable David Wilkie, along with Auxiliary Constables Bergeron and McGlynn were on hand to show support for these individuals who act as ambassadors of good will and sportsmanship for our city.
Of note, Timmins Police’s own Ashley Keizer will be attending his first national level competition in bowling.
As we all know, Ashley works behind the scenes, quietly but dutifully, every day acting as the police station’ administrative courier.
The Timmins Police equally appreciates the efforts of Eric KAIJA as he tend to cleaning police vehicles and contributing to the impressive image of the Timmins Police Service
We wish our local athletes well and hope that they own the podium in Calgary
