(TIMMINS) The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with robbery related offences
stemming from an incident that occurred at a convenience store in Schumacher during the
evening hours of January 15th.
Based on investigation, it has been determined that a suspect attended at the convenience
store and proceeded to brandish a weapon while demanding money from the store clerk.
The suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The investigation by the Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division culminated
with the suspect being identified and arrested earlier today.
The investigation also led to the execution of a Search Warrant at a Croatia Street address to
locate and secure further evidence related to the robbery.
As a result, a 24-year-old resident of Schumacher has been charged with:
- Robbery with Violence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Use Disguise with Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of
Canada - Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possess Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in
Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
