On March 18, 2024, the Timmins Police Service became involved in an investigation involving a firearm being discharged at a local residence. As a result of the complaint, the Criminal Investigation Division took over the investigation.
On April 4, 2024, members of the Criminal Investigative Unit and Uniform Patrol executed a search warrant at a residence in the south area of Timmins. A search of the premises in relation to the incident resulted in the following seizure:
- A 9 mm handgun and ammunition
- Canadian currency estimated to be under $5000.00
- 79.6 grams of Fentanyl
- 73.8 grams of cocaine
- 76.5 grams of Methamphetamine tablets
- 4.5 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
- 228 grams of psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms)
- 18 pregabalin capsules.
The street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $42,103.00.
Adam Longpre (41 years old) of Timmins has been arrested and charged with numerous firearm and drug-related offences. He has also been charged with failing to comply with a release order. Longpre was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing scheduled for April 5, 2024.
