The Timmins Police Service is following the trend with other police services and moving our in-person auctions to a digital format. Timmins Police Service has created a Facebook Group entitled “Timmins Police Service Auctions” under our main Timmins Police Service page. Citizens can request to join the group by accepting the rules and once accepted will be able to bid on items online.
We are looking to start posting items by the middle of June but want to give people a chance to join the group before items are posted.
Property will be posted on Fridays and will run for 7 days, until the following Friday. Bids are accepted in $1 intervals. Winners will be informed by public comment and will have 7 days to pick up their article(s) at the Timmins Police Service Building.
All types of personal property come into the possession of the Timmins Police Service throughout the year from tools to household goods to bicycles. The Timmins Police Service is required to dispose of this property by public auction in accordance with the Police Services Act. The police auction allows the Timmins Police Service to keep our property room clear and the proceeds generated are used for any purpose the Timmins Police Services Board deems in the public interest.
To join the group visit https://www.facebook.com/TimminsPolice , choose “more” and hit the Groups tab to find the Timmins Police Service Auctions group.
