(TIMMINS) The Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division has completed its
investigation into an incident that occurred during the morning hours of Monday, January 22nd at
a Sixth Avenue residence where the Emergency Response Team was deployed.
A male subject was arrested at the scene and a firearm was located and seized during the
course of their investigation.
As a result, Justin SKINNER-WITHERS, 46, of no fixed address (Timmins) has been charged
with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of
Canada - Knowledge of Possession of a Firearm without a License contrary to the Criminal Code
of Canada - Possession of Restricted Firearm with Ammunition contrary to the Criminal Code of
Canada - Mischief – Destroy or Damage Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Careless Use of a Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- 6 counts of Possession of a Firearm – contrary to Prohibition Order contrary to the
Criminal Code of Canada - Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of a Prohibited Device contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario
Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
