(TIMMINS) The Timmins Police Service is in the midst of completing its investigation into an
incident that occurred at a Sixth Avenue residence earlier today.
Based on the nature of the incident, the Timmins Police Service, acting in the best interests of
the public, deployed its Emergency Response Team to the scene.
The Timmins Police Service took and maintained control of the scene.
A male party was taken into custody without incident at approximately 11:00 a.m. today.
A strong police presence was noted in this area, as police responded to the call.
Timmins Police – Forensic Identification Unit officers are completing an on-site appraisal of the
scene at present.
The perimeter has been removed and vehicle traffic in this area has returned to normal.
The exact nature of the incident is the central focus of the investigation which is led by the
Criminal Investigations Division of the Timmins Police Service.
This is deemed to be an isolated incident. There is no threat to public safety stemming from this
incident.
