The Timmins Police Service continues to investigate the weapons incident that occurred during the early morning hours of December 13th on Third Avenue. Investigators are continuing to collect and examine video from numerous sources in an effort to further the investigation. The collection of videos from the various sources has been an integral part of the investigation.
The investigation thus far has revealed that two individuals became involved in a confrontation on Third Avenue. As the confrontation continued, it escalated to the point where at least one firearm was brandished and several shots were fired. As a result, one person sustained a non-life-threatening injury and attended the hospital on their own.
Police believe that these individuals are known to one another and the incident was not a result of a random act of violence. The motivation behind the altercation has yet to be determined.
